Website care for Sacramento small businesses

Website care plans for Sacramento small businesses: updates, backups, edits and hosting, run remotely with calls in Pacific time.

Sacramento businesses

Sacramento has a broad mix of small businesses: shops and restaurants in Midtown and the older neighborhoods, trades and home services working across suburbs such as Elk Grove, Roseville and Folsom, and consultants and firms that work with state agencies. Plenty of them had a website built a few years ago and haven't touched the software since.

Long, hot summers and smoky days during fire season can change opening hours at short notice, and customers check the website before they drive over. A care plan means a closure notice or new hours go up when you send them, without anyone hunting for a password first.

A month on a plan

Here is a concept log for one kind of site we look after. Each lane is one part of the site; the steps are updates, and the tall marks in the backup lane are the copies taken right before them.

How we work with Sacramento businesses

Everything is done remotely. You send changes by email, we keep the site running from our side, and any call is booked in Pacific time. We have no office in Sacramento, and a care plan doesn't need one: the website lives on a server, and so does all of the work on it.

What we need to take it over

  • Your website address, and where the domain is registered
  • Where the site is hosted now, or that you'd like us to arrange hosting
  • What the site runs on, if you know: WordPress, another CMS, a site builder or custom code
  • Who built it, and whether you still have the admin logins
  • The changes you usually need, such as hours, staff, menu items, prices or new photos
  • Anything broken or worrying right now, such as a warning in the browser or a form that stopped sending

Questions

Do you meet in person in Sacramento?

No. We work by email and video calls booked in Pacific time. A care plan doesn't need meetings once it's running.

My site was built by a local designer who closed. Can you take it over?

Usually, yes. If you can still reach the hosting account or the domain registrar, we can get access back and look the site over before quoting.

Ask about a plan

Plans are quoted per site. The quote depends on what the site runs on, how many plugins and pages it has, how often you expect edits and whether we handle the hosting.
